Meeting Announcement

Location: Riverview Lions Club (Coverdale Road)
Main Agenda Item: Proposed Municipal Zoning By-Laws (#300-6)

Members, this is your opportunity to gain a better understanding of how proposed bylaw changes may impact your business.

In addition to signage restrictions, there are a number of other changes and new restrictions which are proposed in the new Zoning By-Laws. We have been told that current businesses will be grand-fathered. However, IF a current business owner does renovations to their building or signage, or sells their business, it is our understanding from information provided by the Department of Urban Planning on April 22nd at the Public Information Session that the new regulations will kick in. This potentially discourages renovations and causes difficulty selling your business and/or property.

To ensure you are provided with accurate explanations and information, representatives from the Town of Riverview and the Department of Urban Planning & Development have been invited to attend this session.

For highlights from the proposed Zoning Bylaw, please refer to Membership Update emails sent to you by Business Riverview (A Barkhouse) on April 18, 2013 and April 26, 2013. These emails mention just a few noteworthy changes and restrictions including façade specifications, location of parking lots, banning of drive-throughs on the north side of Coverdale Road, etc.
